Search Engine Optimized Web Copy
Nikki specializes in creating SEO web copy for companies that want to generate more traffic to their websites. Nikki first studies the key words consumers use to find your competitor's websites, and then writes copy that helps your website rise to the top of the search engine lists. If you're not in the top 10 on an initial search, it's unlikely that your website is going to generate the kind of traffic you desire. Contact Nikki for more information on her SEO content packages.
The Difference Between a Ghost Writer and a Co-writer
A ghost writer writes your book for an up-front flat fee and does not get cover credit on the book. It will seem as if you wrote the book yourself. You do have a lot to do with the writing of the book, of course -- it's your story and/or your idea -- but the ghost writer is responsible for packaging your ideas into a salable book. The ghost writer works with your literary agent to shape and create the end result -- the book on a book store shelf. The ghost writer may also write the book proposal, and get paid up front for that as well.
A co-writer or collaborator gets credit on the book, usually a "with" credit in a smaller font than the author's name. The co-writer may be paid something or nothing up-front, but is generally cut-in to part of the book's advance and/or royalty. The co-writer or collaborator sometimes writes the book proposal as well, and will either get paid for that or do it "on spec" for a larger part of the advance and royalty.
Which should you choose? If you have the money to spend up front and you want sole credit on the book, use a ghost writer. If you don't have the money to spend up front and don't mind a writer having a small "with" credit on your book, use a collaborator. In my experience, a collaborator is more likely to feel "invested" in your project and will help you promote it on the back end.
